Dana Leahey (she/her)


Dana has dedicated a lifetime to the outdoors and to sharing this passion with children, youth, and mothers from all walks of life. As Camp Director for over 40 years, she has been integral to Camp Scugog and Scugog Nature School’s success, bringing a deep compassion, empathy and respect for campers, staff, and the natural world. She is an expert in building community, connection, and programming that resonates with children and teens. Deeply passionate about environmental sustainability and land stewardship, Dana is excited about Scugog Nature School’s ability to help instill in children a profound appreciation for the natural world so that they may be positive stewards of our environment.

Vicky Spence (she/her)

Office Manager & Educator

Vicky has played a key role in Camp Scugog and Scugog Nature School’s leadership team for 9 years. As Office Manager, she is responsible for supporting families and agencies to successfully enroll in camp and SNS, and plays a key role in connecting with donors to ensure they understand the impact of their gifts. Vicky runs our Little Sprouts program and is working towards her certification as a Forest and Nature School Practitioner. Vicky is passionate about creating awesome experiences for children, something she’s been doing for over 30 years as a dedicated Scout leader.

Abhishek Gupta (he/him)


A born teacher and student, Abhishek is always looking to learn and engage with the natural world, and to share that passion with others. Abhi was raised in India where he completed a Masters in Business Administration and built a career in management before realizing his passion for the outdoors, ultimately leading him to enroll in the Outdoor Adventure Naturalist program at Algonquin College. He has led canoe trips through Algonquin Park, guided trekking expeditions through the Himalayas, and worked at a YMCA camp, forest school, and outdoor education center. At Scugog Nature School, his aim is to connect children with nature and more importantly with themselves so that every child can grow into their full potential.

Charlotte Tousaw (she/her)


Nature has sparked Charlotte’s curiosity since she was young. She has always been eager to learn more about the world around her and to inspire the same curiosity in others. Charlotte earned her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Science from McMaster University where she focused her studies on ecology and environmental science. Charlotte has worked in a number of outdoor education settings at Bronte Creek Provincial Park and Conservation Halton. At Scugog Nature School, Charlotte enjoys inspiring children to become better caretakers of our Earth.
